Postpartum Doula Care & Sacred Support for Families

Welcome.

At MotherRoot, we honor postpartum as one of the most tender, transformative seasons of family life. Across generations, the first weeks after birth were held in community—surrounded by steady hands, nourishment, protection, and care for the mother as she crossed the sacred threshold into motherhood. Today, MotherRoot exists to restore that circle, offering families compassionate, skilled, and heart-centered support as they settle into life with a newborn.

Whether your baby was born at home, in a birth center, or in the hospital, our postpartum doulas step in to provide guidance, practical care, and sacred presence—because no family should navigate this transition alone.

The First 40 Days: Sacred Postpartum Window

Across cultures, the first forty days after birth are recognized as sacred—a time for the mother’s body and spirit to gently restore. During this period:

• The mother’s body is tender and energetically open

• Rest, protection, and nourishment are essential

• Emotional space is vital to process birth and transition into motherhood

Our doulas create an environment where mothers can soften into recovery, bonding, and integration, supported by a circle of care rather than navigating alone. This care is not about productivity—it is about nourishment, presence, and restoration.

Some families may choose to mark this sacred window with gentle rituals, ceremonial bodywork, or Closing of the Bones—practices that honor the mother’s journey and help her feel gathered again.

Holistic, Sacred Support &Integrative Women’s Health

— How we tend the postpartum space—

  • Creating a safe, calm, and restorative environment

• Providing guidance for newborn care, feeding, and family integration

• Supporting the mother in rest, bonding, and emotional processing

• Families are tended to by the collective of postpartum doulas from Motheroot for ongoing care beyond this allocation if desired for $40-60/hr sliding scale

2. If seeking 6 weeks of postpartum care without working with Taylor - Families are taking care of by the collective of postpartum doulas within Motheroot whose experience, specialties, and personality align with the family’s needs.

Visits typically include two in-home sessions per week, up to four hours per visit, for six weeks, providing a steady rhythm of care for $40-60/ hr sliding scale .
